Supreme Court of Liberia Dismisses Writ of Prohibition

Monrovia, Liberia The Supreme Court of Liberia has dismissed a writ of prohibition filed by the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC) of businessman Simeon Freeman, which sought the disqualification of six Presidential candidates in the race, including incumbent President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and the leader of the main opposition Congress for Democratic Change Cllr. Winston Tubman.

Liberian, Yemeni Women Win Nobel Peace Prize

Oslo, Norway Three women who have campaigned for rights and an end to violence in Liberia and Yemen, including Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, won the Nobel Peace Prize today, the head of the Norwegian Nobel Committee said.
