New Liberian Announces Death of Its Reporter

New Liberian, an online Minneapolis-based Liberian news magazine announces the death of its reporter from its Lagos Bureau in Nigeria.

Reporter Mataly Success Mondaye died recently in Nigeria. Details surrounding his death are still scanty. However, a caller from Monrovia claiming to be a relative of Mondaye told New Liberian that Mondaye died a few weeks ago in the Nigerian capital, Lagos from what is believed to be a suicide.

The caller did not indicate any reason why, if any, would make Mondaye to commit suicide. Mondaye leaves to mourn his death his many friends, loved ones and close relatives in Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, Europe, and the United States.

Mondaye was an ambitious and brilliant student. He attended the United Methodist Church in Liberia, lived in Ghana as a refugee and eventually moved to Lagos to pursue higher education. He was very passionate about helping others and seeking non-violent means to resolve conflict. He will forever be remembered and greatly missed. New Liberian regrets his death and sympathizes with the family in Liberia.
