Liberians Reject Referendum Propositions

Monrovia,Liberia Cllr. Elizabeth J. Nelson, Co-chairman of the National Elections Commission (NEC) announced at a press conference on Wednesday 31st August 2011 at the NEC HQ that, all four propositions that sought to amend sections of the Liberian Constitution did not meet the two-thirds constitutional requirement. This means the referendum has been defeated.
