Five Reinstated AFL Officers Complete Senior Leadership Training in Nigeria

The Minister of National Defense, Brownie J. Samukai, Jr., has challenged senior reinstated Armed Forces of Liberia( AFL) officers returning from the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Nigeria to apply their knowledge gained in the best way possible for the good  of Liberia.

These officers include Lt/ Cols. Sekou S. Sheriff, Boakai B. Kamara, Aaron T. Johnson, Daniel K. Moore and Major Andrew J. Wleh.

Minister Samukai encouraged the officers, who are the first batch to attend this prestigious military institution of Nigeria, to demonstrate high level of professionalism in the discharge of their duty and further called on them to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects their career calling.

The Minister made the remarks when he met with the five reinstated senior officers at the Ministry of National Defense on Benson street.

The five reinstated senior officers completed a year long senior military training course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Jaji, Nigeria.

The Senior Command and General Staff Course which covers Maneuverist Approach  to Warfare, Strategic and Geo-political Studies, climaxed with a management package, prepares these officers for senior and staff functions.

The presence of these officers who have returned with wealth of experience will greatly contribute to the discipline and regimentation of the new AFL.

The five senior officers have expressed their gratitude through the Minister of National Defense to the Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for affording them such opportunity for the betterment of the AFL.

In a related development, two reinstated senior officers receiving similar leadership training in China are expected to arrive in the country soon.

Meanwhile, the former Technical Director of Civil Works at the Ministry of National Defense, reinstated Lieutenant Colonel Solomon Gonny, has left the Country for a year-long similar leadership training in the United States of America.
